Product Performance
Different terrain and riding styles can benefit from specific shoe features. Grip, protection, weight, and breathability are all factors that can affect your on-bike experience.
Level 4 Flex provides a strong power transfer to the pedal, support for long descents, and enough compliance for a secure pedal connection while offering a small amount of trail feedback.
Our medium volume last can accommodate a vast range of foot shapes, but an average volume foot will be most comfortable. Larger feet will be comfortable sizing a half-size up.
Got these at a good price so took a chance. Got other Boa style shoes which are very comfy. Initial fit seems small. Very rigid. Put my shoe stretchers in for a few days. Slight improvement but comfort seems a real issue. Looks wise they tick the boxes with quality finish and materials. May need to wear them in over time.
So, these shoes are a little stiff out of box and will loosen up over time. I'm a medium foot size 10, they fit well. Now the ankle is covered but just barely. For me they need to come up about an inch, Grip is excellent. walking in them is fine. Boa system works well. bottom line it's a really good shoe, but 220 bucks is too much. I got them 50% off which I thought was a great deal. I gave them a five on rating, but 4.5 is more appropriate. Finally, I would recommend a couple of suggestions: 1. ankle needs to come up higher. 2. How about a couple of different colors. 3.Retail Price is too high,
Perfect
Out of the box they look great. I have other RC shoes with the BOA and I love them. These have a very ridged top around my ankle. They are also quite stiff where they should be bending across the top with your toes. I’ve been riding my stationary bike, as it’s winter here in hope they soften up for spring. Walking in them isn’t ideal, they kind of hurt.
Perfect aggressive trail/DH shoe. Excellent grip and damping. Good water resistance. Roomier than other models but still tight in the top of the toe/midfoot section. Terrible to walk in. Has a funny pinch in the flex point and the inner ankle support rubs your ankle bone. None of this noticeable riding.
