Frequently asked questions
Will the BOA dials be safe from trail strikes?
Yes, they are designed with durability in mind. The BOA® Li2 dials are protected by a custom-molded KPU ‘Rampart’ shield. This guard is specifically engineered to shield the closure system from rock strikes and trail debris, ensuring your fit adjustment remains secure throughout your ride.
Will the tongue shift during aggressive riding?
No, the shoe features a fully gusseted tongue designed specifically to prevent shifting, ensuring your foot stays locked in place even through the most demanding riding conditions.
Are these comfortable for long, rough descents?
Absolutely. The Hellion Elite BOA® is built with D3O® High Impact Zone Technology in the insoles and integrated top-of-foot padding. This specialized material effectively absorbs energy and reduces vibrations, which helps minimize foot fatigue during those intense, long-duration descents.
Can I adjust the fit while riding?
Absolutely. The dual Li2 BOA® dials allow you to make micro-adjustments on the fly. This system lets you tune the tension instantly to maintain comfort and security as your feet swell or trail conditions change.
Does the EVA midsole provide enough feedback?
Yes. With a stiffness level of 4, the EVA midsole is engineered to deliver a precise balance between efficient power transfer for climbing and the necessary trail compliance to help you feel the terrain during technical descents.
