My biggest concern with the last gen was the material of the laces, which holds dirt and will result in fraying and failure of the boa lace. Left me with one working shoe on a ride. It's clear they did not change that aspect, leading this product to be a fail as well. On top of all this, the grip you get isn't as good as fox, five ten, and specialized.

They removed my review of the last generation one. This is a problem with online retail, companies will mess with review ratings to makes some bad product seem better than it is.

Great shoes I have wide feet size 12 snf these check all the boxes. Comfortable stiff and great for bike hike adventures.
Just order the taler version for big rock rides.

I find the fit True to Size - the opening to get your foot into the shoe is smaller than usual which makes it feel under sized but once in that is not the case. I like this because I do not have to twist the BOA Dial much to get a secure fit. They are a little heavy but have lots of foot protection and excellent construction quality. I also like the rearward positioning option for the cleat which does not cause you to lower your saddle height due to the thick sole.
The only negative thing I can say is I wish the nylon sole was stiffer, I am a 140 pound rider and the sole flexes easily when pedaling hard and even more standing. I would rate the stiff between 4 and 5 like show correctly on the shoe Flex Index Scale. FYI - I mount the cleats all the way rearward which seems to make the shoe flex easier so keep this in mind.
