Lewis Buchanan, 26 years old from Innerleithen in Scotland. I began racing back in 2005 in downhill and my dream was to become a full time professional mountain bike racer. After having great success as a kid in the younger categories I then signed my first pro contract at 16 years old. I then raced DH world cup until the end of 2015 racking up a bronze medal at World champs in Junior and numerous top 20 finished in elite. For me I needed a change of some sort, wether that was getting a "normal 9-5" job or dipping in to a new discipline I was unsure. I decided in late 2015 to give enduro a go and make a push at the EWS series. It was a huge task but I felt like the change of scenery and new motivation was for sure there and I had a new vision and set of goals that really made a difference for me mentally. I signed with BMC factory team and had an amazing debut ride at my first ever EWS races with a 13th and 7th place overall but I then badly broke my elbow shortly after round 2 which ended my season. I have since then found my feet in the EWS and become a consistent rider with flashes of speed on certain stages but I am looking to turn those flashes of speed throughout all the stages. Partnering up with Ride Concepts is something brand new for me and I am really happy with the shoe and how it feels, It ticks all my boxes from protection to comfort and functionality. I am stoked to have these guys on board my 2020 program so keep your eyes peeled for more new on this soon. It is going to be rad.
